All of our moulded rubber products are the result of our customers' exact requirements. Whether you require a compression or transfer injection moulding, we are happy to quote. Our services are from the drawing board to the manufacture of your moulded rubber component. Butser Rubber currently produces over 4300 different moulded rubber product lines. We are able to mould components in a very wild range of rubbers and silicones including fluorocarbon and fluorosilicone. Butser Rubber is investing heavily in rubber moulding technology during 2010. The investment in vacuum technology within the rubber moulding process will drive Butser Rubber towards zero defect manufacture. This investment will help to keep moulding costs low, with savings being passed to our customers... who wants to pay for waste?
Butser Rubber are able to mould rubber items from 0.1 grams to 5kg using single or multi cavity tooling depending on the requirements of the job.
Rubber O-rings and non-standard O-rings to your specification. Butser Rubber can manufacture and supply O rings and moulded rubber seals with a cross section down to 0.5 mm. Manufacturing O-rings from a range of materials, colours and shore hardness, and using in-house Vacuum Chamber press and Cryogenic trimming technology, Butser Rubber can supply O rings for when the seal is critical. Butser Rubber are the manufacturers for many 'non-standard' O-rings and have many customers requiring specialised items such as fluorosilicone O rings, Natural rubber O rings, HNBR O rings and Fluorocarbon O rings.
Pressed Gaskets, Moulded Gaskets, laser cut, water cut, stamped or fabricated Gaskets, Butser Rubber can supply and manufacture custom gaskets in a wide range of spec materials, as well as all stocked rubbers, sponges, plastic foams, paper, card, corks and leathers. We can manufacture self-adhesive backed gaskets using a range of glues including 3M transfer films.
Butser Rubber offers a fast gasket service with rapid tooling at very competitive rates. Our in-house gasket pressing machines and rubber moulding capabilities mean you get a rapid service. We are able to cut gaskets in high and low volumes including one-off gaskets using a range of machines.
Whether it is a complex non-conductive HNBR to copper bonding or a simple steel to natural rubber bonding, Butser Rubber has the experience, scope and bonding technology to make it work. From one-offs to mass production we use laboratory tested bond agents and ultrasonic cleaning technology to give your product the best bond possible. Butser Rubber offer hot and cold bonding services. All hot bonding takes place during the rubber moulding process at around 160 degrees C and between 50 and 150 tonnes of pressure. There are many advantages of bonding during the moulding process plus it gives a very high quality finish as no 'glue' is involved.
Examples: Anti vibration mounts, engine mounts, rubberised circuit boards, suspension bushes, bonded tyres to wheels, bonded rollers.
Butser Rubber have two main types of moulded rubber strap: Custom and Standard.
Butser can supply sponge, silicone, neoprene, neoprene/EPDM sheeting in metre sections or in roll to your requirements. Butser has a selection of sheeting options available. For very high tolerance spec sheeting we can manufacture 300mm x 300mm (12"x12") sheeting down to 0.2mm (0.008") to a depth of 12mm (0.5") from a wide range of materials, specs and colours. Please state whether you require any of the above to be adhesive backed.
Butser Rubber can supply a wide range of silicone extrusion based products depending on your needs. We have a wide selection of standard silicone extrusions and offer a full custom extrusion service for bespoke extrusion and silicone profiles. We offer a wide range of colours and have flame retardant, steam resistance, food quality, and high and low temperature grades of silicone.

Moulded, sheet, extrusion, stamped, punched or fabricated, we have a lot of experience with this material. Recent investment in new machinery has made sponge seal and gasket cutting one of our most exciting product lines. With the added advantage of PSA (self-adhesive) backed sponge products, customers have been able to use this type of material in a new manner of ways. For example, self-adhesive sponge seals fixed to aircraft, where the seals do not drop out as the lower housings are removed, making them, "A damn sight easier to fit, replace and work with as you don't need three hands". Examples: Sponge window seals, Silicone sponge compression seals, Slow return memory sponge, Protective sponge housings.
Butser Rubber manufacture silicone and rubber grommets for many applications in a wide variety of designs and materials. Ours rubber grommets are custom made, and we can manufacture for 1 off needs through to mass production. Butser Rubber currently manufacture and supply Automotive and Defence rubber grommets on Kanban schedules with weekly or monthly call offs. Butser Rubber also mould silicone rubber grommets for Aerospace and high temperature applications. Butser Rubber are the actual grommet manufacturers and we would be delighted to talk to you about your custom rubber grommet design and requirements.

A superior level of quality can only be achieved by a company who wants the quality, and is willing to take control of the processes, machines and materials used in the manufacture of a product and better them. The presence of a full time quality inspector does not in Butser Rubber's opinion drive quality. It has to be a company wide believe that quality is in everything you do, driven by all members of staff. It is something that has to be designed in at every stage of the process and by doing so, you design out error.
Butser Rubber has designed its continuous improvement program to drive the company towards the goal of 'Zero internal defects'. Butser is not there yet, but working to the principles and so is ever improving. This is not only within production, but includes admin processes and customer paperwork, For example: Delivery notes, etc.
